There are currently over a dozen active proposals for new or expanded fuel extraction projects in the Pacific Northwest, priming the region to transition from being a green haven to becoming a major player in the carbon creation and export trade.

The combined impact of the proposed projects would have a carbon output equivalent to that of seven Keystone XL pipelines.
